Renting a Beach House

Beach vacations are more fun with a beach house. Hotels are okay, but for a real beach experience, consider renting a beach house for your beach vacations.

A beach house is especially attractive if you have a large family or are traveling with a large group on your beach vacations.

The first thing you should do to rent a beach house for your beach vacations is to figure out how many people are going on the trip. Beach houses come in many different sizes and can sleep different numbers of people.

Think about who is going on your beach vacations. You may want to rent a different type of house if you are a family with small children with grandparents than a bunch of college students may want to rent.

Sit down and come up with a budget for beach vacations. Determine how much money you have to pay toward renting a house. A house may not fit into your budget and you may need to go to a hotel for your beach vacations. Keep in mind that housing is usually the biggest cost in beach vacations.

You have two choices when it comes to renting a beach house for your beach vacations: rent a beach house from its owner or from a rental agency. Negotiating with the owner usually nets a better deal, but owners do not always want to handle rentals. A rental agency can show you a vast number of homes available for rent.

Whether you want to pursue renting from an owner or a rental agency, contact the visitor's center of the beach you are visiting. In addition, check the classifieds for the local newspapers online to search for owner's and rental agency listings.

Once you have this information, contact the owner or rental agency and negotiate the rental of the perfect beach house. Keep in mind that prices fluctuate with the time of year. Just because your friends rented the house for a bargain price in February, does not mean you will get the same rental price for the house at the height of the season in June or July. You will also probably have to pay a deposit for the rental.

Make sure you know the sleeping accommodations in the house. A house may sleep ten people, but if the sofas are considered sleep space and nobody wants to sleep on the sofa, it may be a problem.

Rent your dream beach house early! Do not wait until close to your beach vacations to rent a beach house, especially if you are going to a popular beach destination.

While at the rental house, observe all rules. You want to make sure you get your deposit back and you may want to rent the house again in the future.

Make sure you clean up after yourself before you leave. Pick up trash, clean the sheets and anything else required.
